WaterAid Flyfishers Sponsorship Appeal

Gordon Inglis and Robin Lambert (Event Co-ordinators)

The Charity Fly Fishing team has been together for 4 years now.  The team consists of 2 competitive anglers, and 2 proficient amateur anglers:-

Customer Relations Advisor - Robin Lambert
Commercial Manager - Gordon Inglis (Competitive Angler)
IT Team Leader - Raymond Smith (Competitive Angler)
Senior Project Manager - Stuart Henderson

We first got together to compete in the Anglian Water WaterAid Flyfishing Challenge at Rutland Water in 2004 against all major Water Authorities, Suppliers and Contractors from within the UK and Europe. The team came in third in the team event and second in the individuals. Since then we have always came in the top 6 places at Rutland Water.

The team also organises, promotes and competes in the Scottish WaterAid Fly Fishing Challenge. In the first year of the event we had come in second in the team event and first in the individual event, then won the team event and singles event in 2006. Since then the team has always come in the top 3 places of the event.

The Charity Fly Fishing team organises and promotes the WaterAid Fly Fishing Challenge at the Lake of Menteith in June every year. Over the last 5 years we have raised just over £60,500 for WaterAid from running the event.

2005 - £8,060.50
2006 - £10,000.00
2007 - £16,107.00
2008 - £14.500.00
2009 - £10.350.00

The team competes against our major Key Account Customers, Contractors and Suppliers and other Water Authorities from throughout the UK.

We have received glowing reports and feedback from all our customers, contractors and suppliers, also from the WaterAid officials on how professionally the event is organised and run.  Due to the WaterAid Fly Fishing Challenge being run so professionally it is growing from strength to strength every year that it is run due to word of mouth from the participants talking about the event.

The companies who participate in the event regularly apply for entry to the next again years event before the application forms are sent out

The team is constantly looking for major backing and financial support so that we can continue competing at the major UK WaterAid events and upgrading our equipment.

If you would like to support the team please contact Robin Lambert at Robin.lambert@scottishwater.co.uk
